For a dancehall artist,
Jamaica is paradise,
the place where it all begins...
We flew to Jamaica to follow young Spanish artist BAD GYAL and her crew in the process of creating her new song “Unknown feeling”, conceived from a dance step with the same name created by the Jamaican choreographer Zidan Xqlusiv.
We wanted to offer the public an exclusive and intimate look on the collaborative work process of Bad Gyal and how it enriched her and the whole team, both profesionnally and personally.

At Big Yard Studio in Kingston, we attended the mix session of Bad Gyal in duo with MC Qraig Jackson under the creative supervision of producers XAVI "LEK" FARRÉ and PABLO FAKE GUIDO.
At ST. THOMAS beach, ZIDAN XCLUSIV and his dance crew teached Bad Gyal the steps he created for her new song.
Finally, Bad Gyal and her crew made her first public performance of the song in a authentic traditional Dance Hall bar in downtown Kingston.
The film depict how Bad Gyal's relationship with Jamaican culture is not a simple appropriation, but the fruit of a work of understanding and genuine approach to dancehall that nourishes her creativity.
How a woman of only 21 years, originary from a small town of Catalonia, with her strength of character, leadership, willpower and unstoppable ambition, succeeds to enter a culture essentially dominated by men and break with the established rules.
