Making an event video that doesn't look like an event video.
Freakest Challenge Barcelona, is the final of the team Crossfit competition open to all boxes in Spain where the new NIKE Metcon 4 shoes were presented. The famous footwear brand wanted us to cover the whole event with an entertaining film, but with a twist:
"We don't want the video to look like a typical event-video. We aim for a more inspirational piece that expresses the true essence of crossfit." – Nike Spain marketing director.

Despite the intense simultaeous action that typically occurs in sports events, we decided to invest the available budget into one single cinema camera instead of multiple cheaper devices.
Shooting 'run & gun' documentary, in the midst of the excited crowd with such a bulky equiment resulted challenging, but it allowed us to achieve the cinematic look we aimed for and helped us to be more focused on each shot, thus prioritizing quality over quantity.
We scripted the film and requested extra shooting time with some of the athletes in order to capture additional scenes that brought the narrative beyond the restricted context of the event.
