Discovering extraordinary places without leaving your own city. 

For the promotion of the Manila, an IPL beer by San Miguel, VIRTUE, the ad agency of VICE imagined a campaign based on a cultural route through which people could discover extraordinary local businesses in their own city. These brand ambassadors were made public through a series of content going from video capsules to podcast, editorials and a map of the Manila IPL District pinpointing the selected must-go places.

I was sent to Madrid to direct the video portraits of the classic barber shop Bearbero and the urban art bookshop Swinton & Grant.

"To give a distinctive and premium look to the capsules, we decided to shoot in black and white with a cinema camera and lenses. The challenge, as usual, as been to be able to shoot the pieces during the very few hours that the businesses were remaining closed to the public."
